About Me
Hi my name is Sam, I am a childminder in the uphill area of Lincoln within easy reach of the County Hospital. I am married to Matt and have two children of my own. We also have two child friendly cats and a little westie.
I offer drop off and collection from Eastgate School and Bailgate Preschool.
We live in a semi-detached house, just off Nettleham Road with a large enclosed garden. I take the children in my care out to playgroups and on outings as well as caring for them in my own home.
Having got two children of my own I know how difficult a decision it is to leave your child with anyone else and I aim to offer a secure and loving environment in which children can grow and develop. Overall I try and offer a true home from home mummy service to make the children in my care as happy as possible and their parent's lives just that little bit easier where I can.
My Experience
I have been a mum for 18 years, childminder for 14 years and was previously the Chair at Bailgate Preschool for 2 years. In addition to which I have worked alongside another childminder as an assistant for about a year and a half.
I set up on my own in June 2011 and have worked with both preschool children and those who require care before and after school. I have experience with twins and with children who have special needs. including diabetes, anaphylaxis, asthma and a child in a hip spica.
I was Ofsted inspected in February 2020 and awarded a "good" grading.
I am an Early Years Entitlement accredited childminder which means that I am able to offer the funded hours for all ages.
I have attained my Early Years Teacher Status and have a raft of other qualifications including Special Educational Needs Practitioner level 3 and Makaton levels 1 & 2.
My Qualifications
I have a Law Degree and Masters in Business Administration which I used in my previous working life.

We moved our son to Sam after a really negative experience with another local childminder. Since being with Sam he returned to the happy young man we knew. I felt confident in leaving him with Sam and some days, instead of waiting at the door for me, I would have to go in for a half an hour chat while he finished playing!
Sam has provided excellent care for J and he always comes home happy and content. She has a really good manner with the children and reinforces positive behaviour. Her two daughters are testament to her skills as both a parent and childminder. They play with J and are fantastic role models for him.
Sam has been really flexible with the childcare she offers and has always done her best to fit around our busy and ever changing schedules.
J says his favourite thing about going to Sams is his friends and the wooden trains! Sam always shapes the play and learning around the children's interests. J is now down to 1 day a week and almost ready for school. We are very grateful for the support Sam has given us with J over the last year+.

Sam is my 18 month old daughters child minder and she is fantastic. Sam made me, my husband and daughters more than welcome in her wonderful home. The play room and spacious house and garden are a lovely environment for children to grow, learn and explore. The activities they do and groups they attend are great and Sam's two daughters are brilliant with the other children. They are kind, considerate and excellent role models. My daughter absolutely loves Sam and her home and I am more than confident to leave her in Sam's care which is not something I could imagine with others I had met. Sam stands out as a highly qualified, nurturing, caring person with an effortless home from home feeling which leaves me feeling 100% confident of leaving my daughter in her care. My husband and I could not be happier.

My son has had Sam as a childminder now for several months and i/he couldn't be happier.
As id previously had a bad experience with putting him a nursery environment i was worried how he would settle but these feelings soon disappeared. Sams house was warm, safe, clean and friendly from the first visit, and catered for all his needs.
Her daughters have made quite an impression on my son and i believe along with Sam's guidance have helped develop him into a bright individual. He is always coming home with stories of things he has made/done at Sam's house and local playgroups which is great to see and he cant wait to go back!!
Sams price is competitive and her flexibility is just what i need but most of all the service she provides is priceless, i no longer worry about how my son is when im at work as i know hes in good hands.

My son has been going to see Sam for 6 months now, and he loves it and so do I. I felt comfortable with her and her children from day one. Everything she does is with the children best interests first. And making the child and parents feel comfortable with everything. Se explains everything that she does and why, including all the reviews she does on the children.
My son has come on leaps and bounds since starting childminding with Sam, and I'm so happy with his progress..
