About Me
Hi! I'm Laura, I'm 34 years old and live in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. Myself and my partner moved here 3 years ago and I love living in this town, it has got a great community feel and is great for families. I am a Mum to two gorgeous children, my son, 3.5 years and a daughter who is 5 months. I love being a Mum, we love exploring different places and going on walks ( a bear hunt in the woods is our favourite, and collecting sticks!), finding new groups and activities for the children to do, and meeting new Mums with my littlest one has been lovely. I find I am always looking at upcoming events to get out and about with the children! Aside from the hectic Mum life, I enjoy spending those small moments of self care by getting stuck into a book, working out and meeting up with friends.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare since I was 18, and have worked in a range of different settings including nurseries and nannying. I have worked abroad as a creche worker in Zante and a ski nanny in Meribel, and loved experiencing both the summer and winter season! I then moved on to work in social care, where I worked in children homes for children and young people in care who experienced difficulties with managing emotions, trauma and challenging behaviour. Before going off on maternity leave with my youngest I worked as a family support worker, providing home visits to help families and supervising contact between children and families ( this is my current role). I hold an NVQ 3 in childcare and have attended a lot of training courses including first aid, safeguarding, behaviour training etc. Having my youngest and being off on maternity leave has made me realise how much I loved nannying before and focusing primarily on the care for the children. I loved watching them grow and flourish in their development, providing them with a different range of activities and experiences and coming up with new ideas to help families with any struggles. I am looking for a part time nannying job where a family would be happy for me to bring my daughter along too, ideally looking at starting when she is 9 / 10 months old, so Feb / March time to start. I would make sure that you feel happy around what works best for you, (routine, care needs, likes and dislikes etc), and reassurance around your child's care needs always being met. As a Mum myself I know how much you can worry about what is best for your child and yourselves as a family, so I know how important it is to feel that you are being listened to and work together for your little ones! My Qualifications

?I have attended many courses including First Aid, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Signalong, Behaviour training etc.
? Foundation degree in therapeutic work with children and young people.
My Availability
Available to start Feb / March time, ideally 3 days a week. The hours I would be looking at would be around 8 / 8.30am after dropping my youngest at his childminders, and finishing at 5pm. The days I would be looking at would be Monday - Wednesday, as these are the days my oldest attends childcare, however I may be able to discuss different days with her if needed. If you are unsure about the hours you want and times, or if you need childcare a bit sooner than mentioned, I may be able to vary on these so would be happy to discuss with you.
