About Me
My name is Tara and, as TotalCare Childminding, I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, graded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted on 3 consecutive inspections, with over 20 years childminding experience (and longer as a parent).
I live in a large house, with a large purpose built playroom leading onto a fully secure rear garden. I have a purpose built undercover play area allowing children all round access to the garden regardless of the weather. I offer a range of activities (including arts/crafts and cooking) and outings dependant on each child's individual needs. There is a wide range of toys (both inside and outside) for children from birth upwards.
I can offer flexible working hours - these can be part time, full time, occasional hours, rotating shifts, before/after school, unsociable hours, weekends and overnight care.
I am also able to offer government funded places for 15 hours a week to eligible 2 year olds as well as 30 hours a week to eligible 3 and 4 year olds (subject to parents fulfilling my eligibility criteria) - please contact me for further details regarding this.
My Experience
I am an experienced childminder having looked after many children with a range special, dietary and cultural needs - these are adapted according to each child's individual needs and likes/dislikes.
I am a qualified SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) and have a wide range of experience of caring for children with additional needs and would be prepared to undertake extra training if needed.
My Qualifications
I feel continually updating my training is important as it allows me to gain new knowledge and the change in working practice.
I have obtained an Early Years Certificate (Level 4 qualification) with the Open University and have my NVQ level 3 in childcare.
I have the mandatory First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding Certificates, as well as a range of others from puppet play to allergy awareness.
I have studied baby signing and Makaton, as well as now being a SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator).
I have been awarded the ECAT (Every Child A Talker) by Suffolk County Council in recognition of my work with children's language development.
