About Me

I'm Kellie. I have 2 children who are grown up and live away from home. I live in a quiet cul-de-sac with my partner and our black Labrador, Laila. I live very close to the town centre and within easy walking distance of the mainline train station. I have a large, secure back garden.

I have toys and resources for all ages and abilities. I have a large selection of books, and I read with the children everyday. I also have a wide range of art & craft materials.

I like to spend time outside in the fresh air with the children in my care and we make use of the garden when the weather is good. I am privileged to live close to the Sandhills and RSPB reserve and we take advantage of having these beautiful open spaces on our doorstep. During term time when the older children are at school, I can take the younger children to Bedford, Biggleswade or St Neots for walks, picnics etc. We can also attend drop-in sessions at St Swithuns Primary school and Sandy Children’s Centre and Potton play group.

In school holidays we have been on visits to: Woburn Safari Park, Mead Open Farm, Standalone Farm, Shepreth Wildlfe Park, Jordan’s Mill, Wrest Park and Jungle Jim’s soft play. We also visit garden centres, pet shops and other places of educational interest.

I am a driver with a car which is insured for business use and I have various sized baby/booster seats for any car journeys that need to be made.

I currently collect from St Swithun's Primary school ONLY.

At my last Ofsted inspection in April 2019, I was awarded a 'Good' grade. I am due my next inspection at any time.

My Experience

As well as being a mother, I have been a registered childminder since 2003. I have cared for many children over the last 21 years, ranging in age from 6 weeks old to 11 years old, some for brief spells on short term contracts and others for more extended periods, in excess of 11 years.

I often care for siblings.

I have experience of caring for children with asthma, eczema, impaired hearing, food allergies and emotional problems.

I have experience of caring for babies of teenage mothers and have worked with a baby on the Care to Learn scheme (which provides financial assistance to young mothers, enabling them to return to education).

I am a Pacey member and have Public Liability Insurance provided by Covea
