About Me
FULLY CHECKED OFSTED REGISTERED CHILDMINDER twice graded by Ofsted as 'Outstanding' living on the edge of Broadfield/Bewbush, Crawley with my husband - we currently have no pets. We live in a bungalow with a good sized enclosed back garden where the grass has been replaced with artificial grass to provide an all seasons play area. Both inside and out are equipped with toys and activities which are updated and added to regularly.
My Experience
I have had the pleasure of looking after children for just over forty years - twenty six years as a Nanny then as a Childminder.
I was a member of the St john Ambulance for fifteen years - as a Cadet I achieved the Grand Priors Award which was the highest award a member could gain. For a while I was a Badger Leader and taught children between the ages of six and ten subjects such as first aid, safety, and health awareness.
In March 2008 I became a Governor at my sons primary school and studied for the Certificate of Governance - all the governors stepped down to make way for the school to become an Academy.
My Qualifications
Training is the best way to develop my knowledge and understanding of children and their development - apart from being a parent myself that is! All children have their own needs and understanding those needs is paramount to a happy childhood.
I undertake as much training as I can around my working hours. I have a Level 3 Grade 'A' Diploma in Homebased Childcare (equivalent to an A level) and qualifications in first aid, child protection, food hygiene, health & safety, and manual handling ie lifting!
The highest qualification is being a mum!

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My basic rate is £5 per hour for full-time spaces.
I accept early years funding for all eligible children and families along with Tax Free Childcare payments.
My service is completely flexible and is adapted to your families needs.

I returned to work full time and were very cautious on what would be the best option for childcare. We researched between a nursery or placing her with a childminder and used childcare uk to help with our search. We felt that a childminder was the best option but it was important to find a caring childminder who would look after our daughter as we would. From the moment we started to communicate Janice was very honest, helpful and informative about her services and qualifications in line with the Ofsted regulations. When we introduced her to our daughter Janice took time to understand our needs and concerns as well as taking the time to get to know our daughter. She has now been with Sunflowers childminding for 5 months full time and has really bonded with Janice. I know she looks forward to spending time at sunflowers as there is always something fun going on. Janice ensures the early year’s foundation is achieved and always goes above and beyond by arranging days out, tea parties and craft days. Every week she brings something home that she has created and it’s evident in our daughters behaviours and her development that she is happy in Janice’s caring environment. Janice has so much creativity and passion for her job and we couldn’t be happier to have found her. Thank you Janice!

Janice has been the most amazing Childminder for both my 2 children for the last 5 and a half years we have so many amazing memories from this time and will be very sad to leave at the end of the year, any parent that is looking for an amazing setting for their child/children Janice is the one, its like one big family and over the years the chilldren have done so many things and had lovely trips and have a life time of memories.
As a family we can not recommend Janice highly enough both the children have come on leaps and bounds and thats thanks to Janice

I've loved looking after your guys for so long...we as a family also have great memories to take with us when you move on.
Janice is a wonderful childminder. I simply cannot recommend her highly enough. Just seeing her setting gives you an amazing insight into what kind of experience your child is going to have. She creates memories that will last a lifetime and her fabulous parties are fun filled and full of suprises. My little boy loves Janice and he would go 7 days a week if he could!
