About Me
I am a mother of two, age 15 and 12, and live in Marston Green with my children and partner. My decision to become a childminder came about shortly after the birth of my first child in 2006. I started attending playgroups and music sessions which I found to be thoroughly enjoyable.
Prior to becoming a childminder I worked in logistics in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, and whilst I was able to return to this role I felt it did not accommodate my needs as a parent.
Whilst children are in my care they will be encouraged to develop their personal, social and developmental skills; physical development; communication and language skills and also cover areas including literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and art & design, as per the Early-Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
In addition to this I also cater for children aged 4 and above. Where they are encouraged to read, write, draw, listen, play and interact with other children. I also ensure appropriate manners are used at all times and bullying will not be tollerated.
My Experience
I have been childminding since 2006 and have cared for children from 6 months old, up to age 13.
My Qualifications
Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development
Enhanced CRB (and partner)
Paediatric Emergency First aid
I also attending regular training to keep me updated on all childcare and safeguarding related issues.
