About Me
I have 30 years experience of childcare including teaching, tutoring, registered childminder, foster carer & sports coaching. I currently work as cover teacher in secondary covering a range of subjects both Pe based & classroom based for all year groups.
During lockdown I worked full time for a family as a private tutor & nanny & continued after school & to cover private school holidays I currently work in a secondary school in Cambridge as a pe teacher and run the behaviour room. I am now also a Safeguarding tutor & have my Level 3 teaching & assessing qualification. I have been a foster carer for a teenager with sen through to him turning 18 and becoming independent. I teach gymnastics & swimming & undertake a mixture of all roles which work perfectly together. .
I have a current safeguarding and first aid certificate, a dbs check on the update service and a full clean driving licence. I have also cared for an autistic adult with multiple medical issues including epilepsy & learning disabilities following a head injury who sometimes comes to activities with looked after children.
I also currently actively coach gymnastics & swimming from 6 week old babies up to competitive level.
I have 4 children of my own, 15 yrs 17yrs 20yrs, 23yrs, 25yrs. I was foster carer for a 17 year old with autism & adhd through social services who has an ehcp.
My Experience
As above including special needs experience and full time care of children with behavioural problems who have been expelled from school. I am open, honest and enjoy helping people and children and promote an active lifestyle and enjoy keeping the children entertained.
I have also privately fostered children with emotional & behavioral issues & worked closely with social services.
I have previously privately fostered minded children for prolonged periods of time and been given full time care or curriculum time care for mainstream and special needs children by social services. I am also able to offer forest schools equivalent experiences and I can offer overnight care.
