About Me
I am a fun, creative, discplined Drama & English and 11+ Teacher with 12 years experience. I am interested in developing and fostering the expressive and creative development of children with 10yrs experience as a qualified teacher. Since having a daughter in Feb 2019, I have chosen to tutor outside of mainstream education for flexible work/life balance.
I have a unique way of engaging with timid, shy and challenging children who are often the most creative and academic but often get left behind in main stream classrooms where the teacher is generally stretched for time.
Through private tutoring, I have been able to spend quality time building confidence, academic enjoyment and core knowledge in KS1 - 5 English, Maths, Science and performing arts.
My core subject areas are: reading, writing original stories and practising handwriting, literacy and phonics, addition/subtraction/multiplication and division (KS1-2), script writing, film, acting for stage, acting for screen, theatre studies, Shakespeare, Brecht, and 11+ exam prep : comprehension, writing.
I look forward to enhancing your child's future through education.

2020 - Jan - March : private tutoring NW1: working with 2 sets of sisters tutoring KS1-4 English 1 x 4hrs per week
2020 March - Sept : private tutoring NW3: working with a 6yr old with SEN tutoring for KS1 Maths, English 3 x 3hrs per week
2019 - had a baby, MAT Leave
2018 - working 3 days per week at a SEN secondary school N5 teaching humanities and music. KS3-5.
2018 private tutoring NW1: 5yr old and 10yr old brother and sister KS1+2, tutoring maths , Science and English, Wednesdays & Thursdays evenings.
2018 - supply teaching at primary schools in Islington.
Teaching Social media marketing to adult learners 2017 - one year contract, mondays.
Worked with a 16 yr old from Jan 2014-June 2014
On English GCSE - at her December moc exam she got an E grade (17%). After 6 months of weekly private Tyrion from me, she got a C in the intermediate paper (76%)

Clare is so friendly , calm and great with the kids . She was my 10 yrs old son’s and my 5 yrs old daughters tutor for almost 6 months . My daughter was in reception and Clare helped her a lot with the numbers , did many spelling exercises and by the end of term , my daughter was the only one who is able to count upto 200 in their class.
Clare knows how to keep the kids concentration and teach with the games and also makes them laugh too :)
