About Me
Dear Parents, welcome to "Little Chicks Childcare Doncaster" We are located within Woodfield Plantation, Doncaster. We are rated OUTSTANDING by Ofsted for the 3rd time as Child Practitioners; and have been practicing for 22 years focusing on giving children encouragement and helping them develop, within the Early Years curriculum.
We have a spacious temperature controlled playroom/activity room, and a new purpose built school summer house that is a key building within the setting to help play, and develop the children's mind - helping them to "be ready" for school. We have a fully enclosed back garden - including astroturf - brilliant for all-year-round outdoor play. Our setting, both indoors and outdoors is designed and equipped to accommodate children's different ages, stages of development and interests. Abundant wildlife and designated wildlife area for understanding local and world environment.
Our aim is for children to feel safe, secure and happy whilst in our setting. We provide a homely, caring environment where we encourage children to have fun whilst learning and developing. We make observations/written notes, using development plans and next steps tailored to each individual child's interest and needs - this is also backed up with the "Tapestry Journal" platform. We take lots of photos to share with you, to help illustrate your child's progress. This is retained by the parent/carer when your child leaves our setting.
We use up to-date iPad learning games and exercises, which are specifically tailor-made focusing on CBBC/Early Years learning, and also other task apps around Maths, Shapes, English (inc early-years spelling), coordination development, sorting and colours. We continue to look at new and innovative ideas that we can bring in, to help guide early years development.
My Experience
I have been an Ofsted Registered child practitioner since 2002, caring for children aged 6 weeks to 10 years. We are also members of PACEY, and have been awarded OUTSTANDING for the 3rd time by OFSTED.
Here at "Little Chicks Childcare" our aim is to provide a professional and caring service for the children and their families, and make a positive difference to their lives. We always strive to be positive and inject some fun into learning! We continually strive to promote a child's confidence, self-esteem and respect. We make frequent visits to Doncaster Wild Life Park, this is an amazing place to have on your doorstep and provides some super learning for early-years children.
We have an excellent understanding of the Early Learning Goals and the seven areas of learning within the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Practice Guidance which promotes child development.
We are Accredited Child Practitioners for Doncaster Childcare and have met additional standards of practice which are required to become and Early Years Education funded provider. This enables us to deliver nursery education funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This means that parents benefit by having the additional choice for their child to receive nursery education sessions (upto 30 hrs funded, per week) in a home based child care and education setting.
