About Me
I am an OFSTED registered Childminder and mind from my home, Laine's House, which I share with my husband of over 40 years and we have two grown up daughters. I pride myself that all children in my care are treated as individuals and with respect. I offer a wide range of toys and equipment in my playroom, specifically for childminding. My last Ofsted inspection was in March 2020. Where I received an Outstanding in all areas. Our days are filled with many exciting and fun things. All based around the EYFS goals and outcomes. I have a secure garden and there is outside play and equipment to help the children’s growth and physical development. We also use the garden to grow our own vegetables and fruits. We have regular weekly music and movement times, in which we invite our friends along to join us, dance, sing and play our instruments. We have story times each day and I encourage interaction with the stories. I also encourage healthy eating and plenty of exercise. I offer the children in my care a homely, safe, secure, friendly, loving environment in which they can flourish, learn and grow into independent little people.
My Experience
I have been childminding now for over 30 years but have worked alongside children for over 35 years. I am still in regular contact with many of my minded children and their families.
Previously to minding I worked within a school setting, where I trained to help children who struggle with behavioural and social problems.
My last OFSTED inspection outcome was Outstanding in all areas (reports are easily viewed in documents), which I am very proud of. I was praised by my inspector for my fun, interesting and productive ideas in play and learning and my instinct for a childs needs, in both caring and learning. I have up to date paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding children certificates and relevant police checks. I also have attended the regular area training sessions and workshops to keep up to date with EYFS developments and other child care issues.
My ethos is that when children are in my care, I care for them as my own children or as I would have wanted
someone to have cared for my children. I endeavour to encourage all my children to be confident, strong, fair and independent little people, in a caring, secure and loving environment. But above all to have Fun, we only get one childhood and that’s what it should be, FUN, while not even realising you are learning!!
My Qualifications
I have been awarded an Outstanding in All areas by OFSTED
I have all the qualifications required by Ofsted and to practice the EYFS. (Early Years Foundation Stage)
I have over 30 years of experience working alongside children.
I am trained in child behaviour and psychology.
I also have an up to date Paediatric First Aid certificate.
Safeguarding children certificate.
All required police checks.
My Availability
Two of my little ones will be starting their next adventure at big school in September. One place is already promised but I am looking to fill the other place. The vacancy will be for three days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (which are negotiable) Just drop me a line if you are interested, or if you need to ask questions regarding any general Childminding issues you may have, I will do my best to answer them.
