NOT CURRENTLY SEEKING CHILDCARE
Looking for au pair plus/mother’s help/family assistant 35h/w - own studio accommodation, Barons Court
1 child and dog

Hi. We're a close-knit, informal but fairly traditional British family living in central London (Brook Green, near Hammersmith) who have our hearts in the countryside! We are looking for a family assistant to start ASAP - Mum has 6 month contract to start in two weeks.

We have three kids - two girls aged 12 and 10 (in Years 8 and 5) and a boy aged 7 in Year 2. The eldest is at boarding school so there are two kids to care for - 3 in holidays. In April the second daughter will join her sister so it will just be the boy at home. We also have a 2 yo house-trained miniature wire-haired dachshund who has a squirrel fixation.

The kids do a few after school activities like swimming and music lessons. We try and arrange a play date at least each week with other families for dinner, or going to them. They love jumping on the trampoline, climbing trees, picnics, bike rides, making dens everywhere. We tend to work on the basis that filthy kids are happy kids... the big ones are into reading and crafts and the small one, anything with wheels. We go on holiday to the countryside when we can in school holidays.

Salary dependant on hours and experience and duties - we can flex the hours/duties to suit the right candidate.

Also there is a college 30m from our front door offering English classes - you can do Cambridge certificate/IELTS or general English conversation, writing and pronounciation classes part time and the college offers a free assessment to find your level and set your programme. We will be able to pay for some classes too depending on our arrangement.

We live in a lovely 6 bed terraced house near the District and Piccadilly Line tube, with a good-sized garden. We have great - separate - accommodation for you - a studio/bedsit with kitchenette and en suite shower room, desk, TV/DVD, fast wifi, and own entrance, to make sure there is enough privacy both for you and for us.

We look forward to hearing from you, and possibly welcoming you to our family!

Kind regards, The Caithies

Household Help

We are looking for a family assistant with previous sole charge experience of helping with school-aged children, dog and household. You must be a driver with previous experience driving in the UK/London. Responsibilities will include care of the children in non-school hours while we are at work (sole charge), nursery duties (including children's laundry, ironing and bed-changing, tidying and keeping clean areas used by them) and meal planning and preparation for the children, as well as school runs and homework/music practice supervision. Packing and sorting the girls’ things when they come home from school and getting them ready to go is an important job at the beginning and end of holidays and also sewing on name tapes! ?? We are both out at work so you would be responsible for the kids for the hour or so before the school run and after school until 7pm.

If you wish to earn extra/have a more full-time role you can also do the housekeeping and cleaning with an extra ten hours. However we have a separate cleaner at the moment.

On a typical day you might get the kids up and dressed, let the dog out, make their breakfast
and take them to school. In the afternoon, prepare a snack and collect from school and take them to playdates/park/swimming as arranged before giving them supper and bath and getting ready for bed. Of course there might be homework to supervise too. You should enjoy organising their lives and their things - playdates, PE kits, packing etc.

To be perfect for us you will be:
Fun & caring - you know how to play and make the children feel loved
Very responsible - a good role model for the children
A good cook
A confident driver - but if you don't drive please still contact us.
Happy to organise your own free time
Flexible
Maybe you speak French or read music and can help the children?
