My Summary
About Me
I have been Ofsted registered childminder for 20 years and I work with my mother. I have two children of my own who are 20 and 16 years old and a soppy dog who 5 years .
We provide a home from home atmosphere. Take the children on outings to farms, parks, playareas etc as well as providing lots of activities at home eg drawing, cornflour play, sticking etc.
My Experience
I sat my NNEB (level 3 diploma in nursery nursing) at collage then went on to work in a nursery for 1 year. After the nursery I was a nanny for 2 children for 3 and a half years. I then became a childminder when I had my own children and have been childminding for the past 17 years with my mum. Our experience includes caring for children with a cleft palate, food allergies, asthma and children who suffer with febrile convulsions. Last Ofsted inspection May 2019 (which you can view online using my name) result was good

Cara and Barbara are so welcoming, warm and loving people. The pair, just I needed as a first time mum.
They looked after for my nearly one year old baby girl, who quickly settled in with the ladies, thanks to their caring and happy environment.
On our first week, my little girl had her handprint taken for father's day, which been made out as a key ring. Dady also received a hand made father's day card. We were blown away by this lovely and thoughtful surprise gift.
Cara and Barbara were also taking the kids to different places, including Chessington adventures, Brooklands car museum just to name a few.
I received a regular feedback on my little one's development, and plenty of useful advice on certain things, that I could implement in my parenting.
The lovely pair were also very understanding and supportive around my return to work situations. Thanks to Cara I changed my job and I am a much relaxed and happier mother, a truly God sent person.
Since day one, I never worried when I dropped my daughter off, because I knew she is in safe and caring hands. My daughter was always happy to stay with them, and the regular photos, Cara sent me of my daughter during her stay, also proved that.
Cara and Barbara are truly passionate about their job, looking after kids. I can not thank their generosity, kindness, flexibility and help enough. If you need a reliable, helpful, knowledgeable, caring, experienced childminder then Cara and Barbara is the one. I highly recommend them!
Cara and Barbara are brilliant childminders and we totally recommend them to other families!
For us, they were the perfect transition from home into childcare as they provide a lovely homey atmosphere, combined with great days out and fun activities.
Since our son started going to them, we noticed an important improvement in all aspects of his development.
Also, they have been very supportive and given us lots of tips and recommendations, as well as formal feedback and development lookaheads to take home.
Now our son grew older so he is moving into nursery but we will definitely keep using Cara and Barbara for special occasions (school holidays and other extra dates). We will also be in touch for when our new coming baby is ready to join them.
We sent out little one to Cara and Barbara and he’d never been looked after by anyone but his grandma and us (his folks). They were incredible with getting him settled in, and eventually he couldn’t wait to get out the front door in the mornings to go them. They did amazing activities with him, and we received some really special artwork etc. and they provided learning activities and wonderful outings which he thoroughly enjoyed. We received pics and updates throughout the day which was amazing! The entire environment is just wonderful and we’d highly recommend Cara and Barbara to anyone looking send their little ones to a child minder in the area. Absolute dream team <3
Cara and Barbara have really been the most wonderful child minders - first with my 1 year old son who I hadn’t left with anyone yet. They were so patient and great with him. Taking the children out on trips to summer fairs, to parks and feeding the ducks - lots of song singing which I discovered when my son was trying to tell me head, shoulders, knees and toes :) my son was hesitant for me to leave him at first but now doesn’t even look over his shoulder as I drop him off. My 7 year old daughter also joined for a few days and cannot wait to go back- that says it all really!
Our son started with Barbara and Cara when he was 7 months old, he was born during the first months of the pandemic and this only added to the very normal feelings of nervousness when leaving your child for the first time. Barbara and Cara were amazing in reassuring both us as parents, and helping him adjust to their setting. They made suggestions regarding settling in times, listened to his schedule at home and really went above and beyond to make sure things went as smoothly as possible. We received regular photos and updates which really helped us in the early days and our son settled in really quickly.
Barbara and Cara's setting is one which is both caring and nurturing but one in which we feel our son is also being challenged; he is learning to be kind and considerate to others, to take responsibility for tidying up, washing his hands and that he cannot always get his own way! Cara in particular is wonderfully creative and our son has developed a real love of drawing and craft even at a really early age. They plan and undertake activities that I don't think we ever would at home.
Barbara and Cara also support us as parents; they are excellent at communicating and concerns or making tailored suggestions and very helpful if there is anything particular that needs addressing. Our son has eczema and a dairy intolerance and they have been very helpful in working with us to manage this and make adjustments to their menu. We have been particularly impressed with the way they have managed the COVID restrictions and have taken every precaution to minimise the risk to the children in their care. For us, the set up being outside really suits our son and he loves the freedom this brings.
Having our son with Barbara and Cara means, in the nicest possible way, that we don't need to worry about him on those days. We know he is being cared for, kept very busy and entertained, well fed and will come home having had the best time. We really notice when he hasn't been with them for a while as he's raring to get back and play. He often asks for them and is always happy to head in in the morning, often without a backwards glance.
