About Me
Hi I have a some vacancies from September 2025 but please do message me to see if I have space as it can change through the year.
I have been a nursery nurse in both nursery and reception class settings so the early years foundation stage is second nature to me.
I hold a full first aid certificate that was completed July 2024, CRB checked ( I help run a toddler group too so hold a few up to date certificates.
I am a mother to 6 children 5 boys but two are now adults and 1 girl who is 5 years old, so I have plenty of experience in how boys and children learn from new born to adulthood and both as an early years educator (qualified nursery nurse) and a mother.
I only do school drop off and collection from Baring road primary school in SE12 only.
I am charging £8 an hour ( minimum 2 hours), or £ 75 a day max. If you do want me to provide food that is an additional £5 per day. Ideally you would have to provide the child's own food as there seem to be an increase in allergies and at least parents will have complete control over their child's diet and know exactly what they have eaten. It is a nut free setting. Toddler groups are included in the daily rate but with funded it's an additional cost under my consumable charge which is £15 for 15 hours each week or £30 for 30 hours each week.
I drive and have enough car seats to cater for any child too. I tend to prefer to walk to most places and use a car as a last resort.

I take on funded children of all ages from the government too whether they are 9 months through to school age. Additional costs for funding I have a small consumables charge each week to cover outings, additional activities, wipes plus that includes the admin time to apply funding each term etc.....15 hours funded care is £15 consumables added each week or 30 hours it's £30 added each week.

I do live on the main road so it's easy to drop your child off in a car or if you need to travel on the local 261 bus to Grove park station or Lee station or Lewisham station. I am very close to Baring school and Northbrook park.
My Experience
My experiences from completing my diploma in childhood studies in July 1999 are as follows.
Worked in a summer day camp in 1999 for 2 weeks.
Worked in Lewisham hospital covering staff that were absent in the baby unit from July 1999 - October 1999.
From October 1999 - august 2000, I worked in a day nursery for 10 months in Sevenoaks before a permanent nursery nurse job came up in a local primary school in Deptford.
September 2000- may 2006 worked as a nursery nurse in Grinling Gibbons Primary
May 2006 - present day I have been a childminder due to raising my own young family.
I see this as my future career now to care for children within my family setting. I am currently teaching in the under 4's childcare group at my local church too.
For the last three years 2011 till present day, I have also been involved in improving Northbrook park ( part of the Northbrook park community group) for the whole community to use as well, so I am very much in the heart of the community. I also help out at our local toddler group at St Mildred's toddler group.
I have started volunteering in girl guides rainbows since January 2024 too which is lovely to work with our local community with the local girls and helping them to learn about the world they live in through activities and learning experiences we provide as well.
I help to admin a local page to keep local residents up to date with local news too and known very well in the area so have plenty of references from people around about my character and care.
My Qualifications
I have completed a national diploma in childhood studies (nursery nursing) BTEC level 3.
I have a full pediatric first aid certificate.( completed July 2024)
I also have many certificates from food hygiene to behavior management, child protection and many others from the early years courses while working with the local authority in London borough of Lewisham.
I also have GCSE's and A levels too. Also have a DBS which is checked regularly due to working in a local toddler group setting.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
£75 a day max 8am till 6pm or if you want to add food it's £80 a day or £8 an hour. ( depending on hours ), before 8am extra charge
Other charges might apply- trips
To bring own wipes, nappies, and milk, but please contact myself for any questions.
To bring own food and snacks please. (allergies are on the increase) unless you would like me to provide the food ( additional payment for this).
Funding there is a small additional cost £15 added each week for 15 hours funding and £30 added each week for funding cost to cover trips and additional activities we do.

Davina really is an outstanding child minder. My daughter instantly warmed to her and her family. Her morning with Davina is filled with park visits, toddler groups, baking etc. She really has a lovely time. We also got 'homework' in the way of stories, games, toys suggested by Davina that we borrow over the weekend. It's a great way to encourage quality time together and I think it's really thoughtful of Davina.
Davina took care of my daughter during the morning and then dropped her off at the local school nursery. My daughter struggled at first with adjusting to nursery and Davina handled this is perfectly, by reassuring her and keeping me fully informed on a daily basis. My daughter now has a full time place at nursery and will be going all day, so we no longer need a child minder.
I will always be grateful to Davina as she helped take away my working mother's guilt as I know my daughter was in great hands and enjoyed her time with her and her family. I would highly recommend her as a child minder, and if I ever have another child, I hope Davina would be available.

Thankyou Laura its been a pleasure to look after her, as you know with all my mindees past and present I am available in the future if you need me. I love being part of your daughters care, and it's lovely seeing her grow and develop and knowing you have played a part in the child's life. I am always striving to be an 'Outstanding' childminder to both children and parents and always try to go the extra mile....

Thankyou very much, its lovely to hear the views of the parents. Every child that comes into my home is welcomed into our family. Your child will have access to the early yearrs curriculum, the same as nurseries but with the love and comfort of a home setting where they have almost one to one attention and care. Please get in touch if you need any care for your child whether its full time or term time or to have completely flexible days that change from week to week . Every child is unique and precious.
