About Me
we have a purpose built log cabin in my back garden, that we use solely for childminding, we have a bathroom and kitchen all within the cabin and a great outdoor area that we use alongside. we follow the guidance of the early years foundation stage. and we provide the resources and an environment that children will develop to there highest, enabling them to be ready for nursery/school. Together me and Charlotte put the happiness of the children our priority and strongly believe that children will best learn and develop when they are happy playing, we provide activities that will best support them individually and we also provide fun things to do that we can tweak according to each child's needs. It is important to us that we have a strong bond with the families of the children we care for as we want the children and their parents to feel like they are all part of an extended family with everyone at steppingstones. we like to have a relaxed environment where everybody feels welcome, its important for parents to be able to speak to us whenever they need to and even more important for the children to be able to express themselves. We are a close setting and plenty of cuddles are shared, we do have a setting like a little nursery but most importantly we have love to share and that is what we focus on.
We are currently working towards a setting based on the curiosity approach, which brings new and exciting times for the children and allows them to fully use their beautiful minds to the very best they can be.
My Experience
I have been childminding for 13 years, but also been raising my own children for 24 years. There is a lot to be learnt from all those years but we continue to learnt everyday as all our little people bring us new challenges and so our experiences grow and grow.
My Qualifications
My most recent inspection was 2023 I received a GOOD grade from Ofsted, and our previous inspections in 2018 & 2013 were also GOOD, we are aiming to develop that to outstanding at our next one. I am paediatric first aid trained and also hold a safeguarding qualification. At the moment I hold a level 4 in advanced childcare and management. I have completed short training e.g. child behaviour, communication and development training. I am currently working towards my holistic training, as that is the direction I would like to move towards.

I currently have vacancy for Monday to thursday between the hours of 7.30 and 17.30
I provide the government funded FEEE 15 hours up to 30 hours for 3-4 year old's and also 15 hours for 2 year old's and for 9 months old

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.75 per hour
hourly I charge £4.75 per hour for children attending all year round and for children just attending term time or holiday cover its £5.25
I don't charge for meals, but provide a full healthy mostly warm meal at lunch times with snack offered at 10am and 16.30pm for snack we set it out like a buffet and the children can help themselves with a little guidance these are all healthy options.
