We came to Kathleen 18 months ago after struggling to get our boy settled into nursery. We didn’t want to ‘let him cry for longer’ which some nurseries suggested. What drew us to Kathleen was the outstanding rating and Kathleen’s experience in settling in children who struggled in a different setting. We haven’t looked back really, the experience couldn’t haven’t been more different. She took her time with him and gave him plenty of attention and he settled in within a week. My boy loves Kathleen and more so Richard and their children too.
Kathleen and Richard cook the children wholesome food, and she takes them out most days to playground, library, childcare or nursery rhyme.
We were really scarred by the nursery experience and the expectation of children to fit into the same mould. We are so happy to have found Kathleen and she will be in our son’s life for a while to come.

Both my little ones go to Kathleen’s and have had an amazing experience. She and her husband Richard provide a home away from home in a calm, nurturing and engaging environment. They do lots of creative and learning activities and go out and about every day. The setting is spotless and the food nutritious. My little ones’ vocabulary has really develop and they have learned to play well with others and be empathetic. Kathleen also speaks French, Mandarin & Cantonese which is an amazing privilege for little kids to be exposed to should you wish for her to also speak to them in these languages. My eldest one will be moving on to school and Kathleen has prepped him very well for the transition. Kathleen and Richard and their kids are very kind and caring and I would recommend their setting to everyone.

Kathleen is second to none and gave my daughter the best start to her early years childcare and education. With her husband, Richard, she provides a calm, nurturing and safe environment where the children feel happy and loved.
Days at Kathleen's are highly engaging; the children attend a variety of playgroups and parks and the activities she runs at home are meaningful and steeped in learning. Always attentive and flexible, Kathleen would meet my daughter's mood and sleep needs on a day-to-day basis.
All meals are impressively homemade, varied and highly nutritious - every day is 5* restaurant experience!
Kathleen is knowledgeable, organised and professional - providing the most outstanding quality of childcare you could ask for.
Thank you for being the warm, fun-loving and patient carer to our little girl who adores and aspires to be like you!

We are sad to be saying goodbye to Kathleen and Richard as our daughter has been so happy and thrived in their care. We are moving out of London and one of my main worries is if we will find someone as good! Our daughter started here at 1 year old and settled quickly. I was a little anxious about it but Kathleen ensure everything went smoothly and it wasn’t stressful at all. Our daughter is happy to go there and leaves smiling, having eaten excellent homemade food and enjoyed a wealth of different activities. She has really come along in her development and routines since starting with Kathleen and we will all miss her very much.

Two years ago we decided Kathleen to be our son’s (17 months old at the time) childminder and we are very happy with our decision. He is quite a sensitive child and Kathleen has been very patient with him, helping him to navigate through the different phases. She has been very helpful and has guided us through the settling period at the start and through other milestones along the way. We get daily reports and updates (written and verbal) about my son’s day, which we find very useful. We are confident that he is in the safe environment at Kathleen’s, where he learns something new every day. Highly recommended!

Our little boy has been with Kathleen since he was around 15 months old and we have had such a brilliant experience. He settled so quickly and now really looks forward to going every day. She is firm but caring and kind with him and he always talks about all the lovely activists they do and the other children he plays with. He also had some food allergies when we first joined and she was so considerate, helping us slowly introduce things into his diet getting to where he is today. He now thoroughly enjoys all her homemade cooking! We couldn’t have asked for more.

Kathleen has had my son for a year now since he was one and he happily skips over her threshold everyday. Kathleen is very organised and has multiple activities planned for the day. She cooks all the children's meals from scratch (Inc baking her own bread and scones) and she provides a variety of foods for the children to try. The icing on the cake is that my son has been fully immersed in French for this whole year, and although he doesn't speak any as yet he is able to follow all her instructions so the understanding is coming along. I would highly highly recommend this setting.

My 20 month old daughter has been with Kathleen since October 2021. What can I say that has not already been said in all the other reviews? Kathleen is an amazing childminder. She is really warm and friendly and always has time to tell you about the day and anything you need to know. What struck me about the first time I visited the setting was that it was really clean, organised and spacious with loads of lovely toys and equipment. I know that when I leave my daughter to go to work, I am leaving her in a home from home where she is happy, well-fed and well-cared for. I cannot recommend Kathleen highly enough.

Kathleen and her family are absolutely lovely! Their home is perfect for children with a beautiful garden and she took such great care of of our babies with our son there all day and our daughter collected from school every day for after school care. Both children couldn’t have been happier!
Kathleen always makes healthy and filling food and prepares interesting, creative, fun and seasonal activities. She takes them out every day and crucially she kept them safe, well & happy during quite a turbulent year or so.
She is so kind and nurturing, I only wish our children could’ve spent longer there!

Kathleen has been looking after our daughter since summer 2019, when she was just one. Matilda loves being with Kathleen - she not only has fun but feels safe and cared for, and learns so much from her time and interactions in Kathleen's care. We visited several nurseries and childminders before we found a place, but knew straight away her place was with Kathleen. She's flexible, provides an excellent space for learning and is very caring. My daughter now understands a lot of conversational French, and can say a few words and numbers - Kathleen has given her a foundation for languages, all whilst having fun and exploring the world. I am so glad we found Kathleen - if you have the opportunity to send your child to her then grab it while you can!

My 3 yr old daughter has been here 9 months and by far the happiest. Always comes home well fed, content, full of stories and had made some friends. She is a sensitive child and Kathleen keeps conversation open and honest about ups and downs which has helped us continue correct and work on behaviour at home. If we end up having another child I would love for send them here again. I know they will be so well looked after.

I honestly cant believe how lucky we were to find Kathleen and have our daughter spend 2 delightful years in Kathleen's full time care. She is the most intelligent, professional and caring lady and my daughter was safe, happy, educated, loved and like part of the family when in her care. She started to speak french to my daughter and before I knew it, my daughter was saying sentences in french to me! As a teacher I needed some long days of child care and Kathleen was able to provide this without me feeling guilty; I knew my child was in a wonderful home. I'm still eternally grateful that my daughter had Kathleen as her 'Mary Poppins', and feel so lucky. If you want the best for your child then she's the Lady! One more thing, shockingly the star rating doesn't have one for compassion/understanding your child, but if it did, it would be a 5 star. Thank you Kathleen. Zoe and Ewan.

Kathleen is a wonderful childminder and is Ofsted Outstanding for good reason.
As first-time parents we were anxious about returning to work and putting our son into childcare, but once we met Kathleen we felt confident that we had found a home from home setting and someone who would care for him as we would. He settled really quickly and benefited from the well-structured days, the freshly cooked healthy food and the different activities that she organised both at home and going to the park, play groups, the library etc. Kathleen delighted in our son’s development, noticing the little things as well as the big steps, always giving us plenty of feedback and looking after him on the days when he wasn’t feeling 100%. Her home was always clean, welcoming and full of fun things for the children to engage with.
Our son thoroughly enjoyed his time with Kathleen. The only reason for taking him out of her care was because we moved out of the area away from London. We would highly recommend her as a childminder.

Kathleen has been an excellent childminder to my two children over the last 4 years. She has an incredibly calm manner, a warm and generous spirit and I have felt incredibly grateful for the care she has administered to them over the years. The atmosphere in Kathleen's home is friendly and welcoming, and the activities Kathleen organizes are engaging and fun. My kids have always been happy there in her care and I highly recommend her to other parents who want to feel rest assured that their children are in a safe pair of hands.

Kathleen is a lovely childminder with an outstanding report by Ofsted. She has a warm, nurturing nature and provides a lovely home for the children. She takes the children out everyday (weather permitting) to local playgroups, the library, parks/woods, and they also have the opportunity to play in her garden. She cooks delicious healthy meals. Kathleen is flexible and has great communication skills; we trusted her with the care of our child completely! My child absolutely thrived under her care for several years, and enjoyed interacting with her and the other children. Kathleen is multilingual and also spoke to my child in Mandarin. We were very sad to leave and only did so because we were moving. We would definitely recommend her!

Our daughter has been going to Kathleen (Dragon & Frog childminding service) since she was a year old and only stopped recently when she got a place at the school nursery. Although Kathleen isn't that local to us, when we met her we knew she would be just right and was worth the extra bit of travel time!
We were instantly reassured and enthused by her calm and kind personality, and her attention to detail with structuring the day for the kids – eg Kathleen often organises a trip to playgroups or local playgrounds.
As well as English, Kathleen and her kids speak French and Mandarin and it's lovely to hear a range of languages in the house – my daughter picked up some French during her time there.
The house and garden are lovely, and from the first day we were happy to leave our daughter with her. Our daughter loved going there and bonded with Kathleen's kids and was sad to leave. We hope to stay in contact. Thanks for everything Kathleen!

Kathleen looked after both my children regularly (my son between ages 2 and 5, and then after school pickups, and my daughter between ages 1 and 3) and still does occasional ad hoc childminding for both of them. When they started, they both settled in quickly and then loved spending time with her. She was always very creative in daily activities: playing games, taking them to various playgrounds, etc. When they stopped going they really missed spending time with her, and often pointed at her house as we passed it saying they wanted to go and play at her place. My experience as a parent is that she was always positive, reliable, her house was always clean, and she gave me plenty of feedback about how my children were doing. I thoroughly trusted her every time I left my children with her (and still do). Highly recommend!

My son started with Kathleen before he was 1 yo and it was an amazing experience. Her care and engagement were clear and he felt at ease with her. He was always stimulated and we could see a spike on his development.
She is an incredible childminder and person.
We loved her.

I've just asked my daughter for a review to put on here...
'The best childminder EVER, I love going there, the food is delicious!'
My now 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son have been looked after by Kathleen for the past 5 years and I would 100% recommend her. She's kind, patient, engaging and fun. The kids have a wonderful time there as vouched by my daughter above. I feel confident that they are well looked after and feel very lucky to have found her!

We viewed many childminders when looking for someone to care for my son in 2018. When my husband and I met Kathleen, we knew instantly that she was the perfect choice. She was very reassuring and understanding and offered a number of settling in sessions as this was the first time our son was to be left in the care of someone else. Kathleen has a lovely home-from-home environment with lots of educational toys and books, good indoor space and a large garden. My son was always very happy to be dropped off in the mornings as he was given lots of different activities to do throughout the day, taken to parks and playgroups and given healthy food options.
He also enjoyed spending time with Kathleen’s children who were always very caring and nurturing.
I would highly recommend this setting and wouldn’t hesitate to use Dragon and Frog childminding again in the future.

My son has been looked after by Dragon & Frog Childminding Service. He enjoys spending time there and is always fed healthy food. My son has built a good relationship with the childminder and the children in her care. He always looks forward to going there, to play with all the toys. I would highly recommend Kathleen and was very happy with her attentive care.
