About Me
My name is Carol and I am an OFSTED registered Childminder who lives in Burgess Hill. I am also a member of PACEY (previously called the National Childminding Association) and have full public liability insurance. I have been double vaccinated against Covid19 and also had the booster.
I re-registered with OFSTED in Nov 2012 as a Childminder after a break of 5 years to bring up my youngest daughter. I have 5 children, 3 boys (now aged 31, 30 and 27) and 2 girls (aged 25 and 16). All my older children have left home and I live with my youngest daughter. I offer a happy, caring and secure learning environment and my house is next to beautiful countryside and also within walking distance of Ditchling Common.
I have a full driving licence and my own 7 seater car.
I am a non-smoker and so is the rest of my family.
We have 1 dog.
My Experience
I have over 30 years' experience in childcare, having 5 children of my own but also I was an OFSTED registered childminder from 1992 to 1994 and then again from 2001 to 2007, then 2008 to the present day. I have cared for numerous babies, pre-school children, provided after school care for children aged 5-8 and older. I can provide references if required.
I also worked as a Pre-School Assistant at a local pre-school for a year in 2006 to 2007 before I went on maternity leave.
I pride myself in being organised, reliable, flexible and having a good relationship with all parents.
I offer a happy and stimulating learning environment in a friendly, family home with a garden and surrounded by countryside. We go on lots of walks, exploring woodland and the natural habitat, trips to local parks, farms, we do cooking, arts and crafts, games, music, etc.
My Qualifications
I have an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education and have attended an Early Years Foundation Stage course to meet the current requirements of OFSTED.
I hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
I am DBS/CRB checked as are all members of my family over the age of 16.
As a Childminder, I have been on many courses and will continue to do so at weekends or evenings to further my knowledge, some examples of courses I have been on are: Safeguarding and Child Protection, Food Safety, Supporting Children in Learning to Read, Working with Parents and Oral hygiene.
My Availability
I do not currently have any availability but you are welcome to contact me to discuss future availability. I am available from 08.00 to 17.30 weekdays.
I do childmind during the summer school holidays but generally take 2 weeks’ holiday. I am usually available during other school holidays. I give plenty of notice of holidays.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
I charge £6.50 per hour. Parents are to provide food, snacks, nappies and wipes.
I would consider providing meals and snacks for an additional charge if requested.
I am a registered provider for the government’s tax free childcare scheme and accept Free Entitlement Funding for 3-4 year olds and 2 year olds.
