About Me
I am a mum of one wonderful daughter, in her final year of legal studies at university, and wife/mum to a wonderful husband who has supported me in my decision to turn his home into a nursery/home from home for the children I care for. I am very lucky to have had wonderful children and supportive parents in my setting who validated my decision to leave my previous employment in education support teams and the careers service to take up child care.
We have two guinea pigs, Eddie and Norris, who are very friendly and the children adore them, finding them very funny little characters.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder for over sixteen years. When last inspected by Ofsted I received a Good grade which I have consistently achieved since I initially registered.
I have been working in education for thirty plus years through the careers service, behaviour support, educational support teams and childcare. Whilst I loved my jobs, I found I prefered to work with the younger children but was unable to specialise in the post I was in. I took a risk and set up as a child minder and have not looked back. The children are amazing and educate me as much as I support their learning.
I am a member of PACEY and am committed to maintaining my professionalism and personal development. I regularly attend training and briefing sessions with Wigan Council.
My Qualifications
I have a Degree in Early Years as well as two other professional degrees
My setting has the 'Smile For Health' award for promoting healthy nutrition and good oral health alongside my 'Healthy Business' award, as well as the Pledge award for maintaining standards for children and parents.
I have Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding certificates as required for registration. I also attend training on a variety of themes to support children's learning and my skills, such as Heuristic play, Creative Movement, Yoga for children, Letters & Sounds etc.

Earlier and later times can be agreed subject to my own family needs.
