About Me
TERM TIME ONLY - no payment or retainers for School Holidays! I live in a non smoking five bedroomed house with a large garden, ample space for children to play and burn off boundless energy. We have two purpose built playrooms with a huge amount of resources to entertain and educate children. My partner and I have four grown up children. I offer a loving home from home environment where children are encouraged to be self sufficient all rounded individuals. I collect children from Hillmead Primary School and Thorley Pre-school ONLY. I have several assistants who work with me to ensure the best levels of care for children at all times, this results in a truly reliable service.
I work term time only, and do not charge retainers during school holidays.
My hours of business are Monday to Thursday 7.30am until 5.30pm.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder since April 1999, I have seen many children grow up and flourish under my care. Minding children from as young as 8 weeks old up to Secondary School age. I had my last OFSTED inspection in November 2019 and maintained my "Outstanding" grading.
My Qualifications
I hold the NVQ3 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development, along with current Paediatric First Aid and Child Protection / Safeguarding Certificates. I have the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinators in Early Years Settings and have completed the Early Years Professional Development Programme. I keep up to date on training to maintain my CPD.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
I charge £7 an hour. I offer funded childcare places for eligible 9mth, 2, 3 & 4 year olds under the Governments Funding for Early Education and Childcare Scheme.

Wendy and Lorraine provide a fun, nurturing and safe environment which my daughter absolutely adores…often waiting by the front door waiting to go to Aunty Wendy’s. Wendy provides a professional, incredibly well managed setting, keeping you informed and leaving you completely at ease that you are in safe hands. Wendy creates a sense of community with the other children and parents with regular updates on individual and shared learning and experiences. My wife and I could not ask for a better experience for Flick.

We honestly couldn’t recommend Aunty Wendy enough. Aunty Wendy currently looks after both our children and it’s such a relief to know they are being so well looked after whilst we’re at work. Every day they come home happy, clean and well fed. They have so much fun that some days they don’t even want to leave! Aunty Wendy does lots of great activities with them and never forgets a special occasion. Communication is faultless and we get regular updates about how they’re doing. It really does feel like you’re leaving your babies with family - we feel so lucky to have found her. Thank you Aunty Wendy!

Wendy is absolutely wonderful! My little one adores her, and loves Nanny (Lorraine) too. She is always excited to see them and doesn’t always want to come home!
It is a beautiful setting and very much a little family environment. My daughter gets to do a wide variety of activities and has so much fun.
We have been thrilled with the quality of childcare Wendy provides and she is such a lovely person. Any child would be lucky to attend this setting.

Our two boys (4&3) go to Aunty Wendy’s 3 days a week and they absolutely love the time they spend at Wendy’s amazing home. Wendy (and Nanny Lorraine) is so much for than a childminder. She has supported my partner and I so much; giving advice, guidance and reassurance, so far above and beyond the call of duty. Her professionalism is exemplary, but she also manages to create a real family feel for the children in a safe and supportive environment in which they all look out for one-another. Our primary school choices have been driven by our desire to remain with Wendy; we really can’t imagine our boys being with anyone else and hope that we are able to remain part of her wonderful family for a good few years yet.

My son goes to aunty Wendy's two days a week. He has been so happy there and always looks forward to going there. Aunty Wendy is an amazing person with a kind and caring heart. My son loves the activities/toys at aunty Wendy's place. He often asks if he can stay there longer or can go there more days a week. He is that happy there.
Knowing my child is safe and happy aunty Wendy's, I have a total peace of mind with her childcare. She is brilliant with kids and all the kids there adore her. She always has a smiley and friendly face and a never a boring day for kids at her place.

Before our Son had even started with Aunty Wendy we were invited to a “family picnic” in the summer; what a perfect way to be introduced to Wendy and the other children. We were immediately put at ease and confident that we were making a great decision.
This has only been reinforced in a multitude of ways since he started in September and we really do run out of superlatives to describe just how wonderful Wendy is and how perfect her house is for a child’s enjoyment and development.
Our little bundle of craziness is not always easy (not to mention whilst caring for other children) but Wendy is so patient (even when he cries in sight of Chelsea football shirts!) and so brilliant with him and to see how happy and content he is in her regular photo updates brings a joy difficult to describe.
Fundamentally Wendy is professional, experienced and loving beyond measure and someone we can’t really imagine being without.

Our twin boys started with Aunty Wendy a year ago for two mornings a week. The setting is clean, bright, airy and the garden area is fantastic. On the very first settling session I was put at ease because of Wendy’s warm and friendly nature.
The boys didn’t take very long to settle into their two mornings a week and they are now always so excited to go. We get regular photos of what they have been up to and we love the artwork they come home with.
Wendy takes the time getting to know each of the children and their families and the setting feels like a home from home. We are delighted.

I was lucky enough to have Wendy look after my son recently and OMG, she is simply amazing! Where to start? She is caring, genuine, friendly, professional, helpful and completely dedicated to her profession. As a mum of three I have gone through many childminders in my time but Wendy really is on a different planet. Her amazing house and garden, not to mention the hundreds of different toys make Auntie Wendy’s a paradise for little ones. My son was on cloud 9 every time he came back from Wendy’s! But her minding doesn’t stop there. She engages and entertains little ones with activities that are both imaginative and formative, and makes sure that every child flourishes under her care. Besides being incredible with children, she has also the rare ability to form an instant connection with parents, with her open, frank and honest manner. But above all, she is a genuinely good person with a heart of gold. Because of circumstances that are beyond my control, unfortunately Wendy no longer looks after my son, but all the same she has won a place in our hearts and I would not hesitate to recommend her to any parent looking for quality childcare in the area.

Was anyone going to make the grade against my very strict childminder requirements? ..... the answer was YES!! My son has been looked after by Wendy for the past 4 months and we feel extremely lucky to have found her. From the first time we met her we knew our son would be in the best hands. Since day one he has been welcomed in the mornings not only by Wendy’s happy and bubbly personality but also by the other children. So far he has flourished into a confident and happy 1 year old who thoroughly enjoys his two days away from mummy. There are no words to say how grateful we are to have found such a caring, nurturing and educating home from home environment..... exactly what we were looking for. How she does it I do not know but I just hope she never stops xxxx

We have nothing but positive things to say about Wendy! She is absolutely fantastic and we're so happy that we met her. She is fun, caring, very organised, reliable, very experienced and we often ask for advice or tips on things we have forgotten over the years. e.g.. process of potty training : )
Wendy has been caring for our children since October 2012 and is currently looking after our 2 and half year old daughter 2 days a week. We could not be more happy about the development and happiness shown by our little girl.
I love the homely environment; there is always a variety of stimulating activities and fun things for the kids to do. They do lots of baking, water play, painting (with hands and feet! My daughter loved this!) frequent trips to the park, farm and much more. Children and parents are always made to feel very welcome by Wendy and her lovely family.
She has plenty of space in the garden, which is fantastic as my daughter loves to be outdoors and Wendy provides many opportunities for outside play. Wendy sends us photos and videos which we love receiving. We look at these together with our daughter and she excitedly talks about what she did or played that day.
All in all, we can honestly say that we made the best decision in choosing Wendy as our child minder back in 2012! Our daughter is so happy there, loves the environment, loves the other children and Wendy to bits. We would have no hesitation in recommending Wendy to other parents.
