About Me
Hi my name is Sue and I am a level 3 qualified registered childminder with more than 25 years experience. My last two Ofsted inspections (Feb 2016 & 2020) were rated Outstanding. I provide a warm, safe and stimulating homely environment for babies and toddlers.
Childminding is not just a job to me, it's a passion. I aim to provide lots of opportunities for the children to experience different activities, visit places and to learn through playing.
We do lots of activities which include cooking, painting, drawing, gluing and play-dough. In the garden, the children can play with the sandpit, water table, ride on cars, buggies, etc. Indoors, I provide age appropriate toys which are easily accessed by the children.
We regularly go to the park, toddler groups, library etc. Also, we explore the local area visiting the woods, farm, zoo and feed the ducks in Hinchingbrook Country Park.
I do regular observations on the children's development and plan activities around their needs and interests. Every child has their own Learning Journey folder, this shows how your child is progressing in their learning and will contain some of the child's drawings, paintings, photos and observations. I also invite parents to view their childs observations on an online app, allowing them to see how their child is progressing. I send parents an update of their childs day at every home time, this includes information on places we have visited, activities, sleep times, meals and nappy changes. I also send photos of some of the things they have done during the day.
My Experience
I have been childminding for over 30 years and have looked after children of all ages and lots of different nationalities. I have minded children from 5 months old until they started secondary school.
My Qualifications
I have attended many childminding courses which include Preschool practice, Managing Behaviour, Sounds and Letters, First Aid, Safeguarding children, EYFS training, 2 year old check, Basic hygiene, Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce.

Our son started with Sue at 1.5 years old and spent about 2 years in her setting. From the very beginning we knew she was the right person for him: he didn’t want to leave her house during the very first meeting and while she looked after him for 3 days a week, he was asking each and every morning whether he can go to see Sue. On the car journey home he would even try to persuade us to head back to finish playing some activity he did there.
The activities she offered were so varied and interesting for our little boy who is very outdoorsy. Apart from the various playgrounds, he went to toddlers’ groups, story time in the library, soft play, farms, the aquadrome and garden centre. On rainy days they were painting, drawing, making cards and doing playdough (all handmade by Sue), cooking biscuits and reading stories. They were singing and dancing as well, as our boy loves singing and dancing. On warm days they enjoyed Sue’s garden arranged to the needs of toddlers with its sand and water play areas, sending cars down the trench, scootering and playing with the ball. On the hottest days of the summer they had a canopy, gazebo, splash pool and refreshments (honestly we all wanted to join!) and what a wonderful Jubilee party she threw last summer!
Our little boy was learning so much in her setting and enjoyed himself tremendously! During these years Sue became one of his favourite people always listed among other family members and practically stood in for the missing grandmother. Since we don’t have family in the area we felt Sue is a pillar, always reliable, always responsive, always looking for ways to adjust to the needs of our active and curious child. We would never have thought of leaving her and even postponed our move to another county as our youngest was ready to step on board and enjoy the range of facilities but Sue decided to move herself and sadly we had to say goodbye to her. We feel very lucky to have had her for as long as we did and we’re sure she will help bring a magical start to children under her care in her new place.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, I'm missing the boys already, we had some great adventures together! They have both been a pleasure to childmind and I look forward to seeing you all in the near future, if you are in the area 😊
Sue is a truly amazing and exceptional childminder. Sue looked after my son from when he was a year old until he was 8 years old and my daughter from 6 months - 2 years.
We'd been with another child when my son was young and hadnt had a great experience but Sue has restored our faith in childminders and changed our view on what childcare is. Both children settled very quickly and absolutely love and adore Sue. Sue will instantly make you feel comfortable and you can tell from the offset that childminding is her passion.
Sue takes so much time to prepare the children's day ensuring that there are educational, fun and stimulating activities to suit the child, they go on lots of outings - indoor and outside play. She also keeps a diary daily to detail what the children have been up to and particulars about nap times, food, toilet habits etc. so you know exactly where you are.
My children have thoroughly enjoyed their time with Sue and we are so sad that the time has come for us to move on, we are only departing as we have moved to a different area and Sue is also moving - if we could move to an area so we could stay with Sue I would in a heartbeat.
In our eyes Sue has became a part of our family, Sue has played such a huge part in my children's journey and has taught them so much I will be forever grateful for the kindness, warmth, nurture, patience, love and care that Sue has shown our children.
So in summary Sue is a wonderful lady and a truly fantastic childminder! It's a true privilege to have had her as our minder - Sue comes very highly recommended.

Wow, what a wonderful review, I'm so sad I won't be having A and R anymore, you have all become like family to me. I'll look forward to your visits to my new home xx
My son started with Sue when he was 18 months. During Covid time it was very difficult decision to where to put him. We were glad we found Sue!! Now,he has moved to nursery but he spent 2 yrs with Sue which he had absolute great time of his early years of learning.
He settled in so well within 1st week of starting. He has loved going to Sue every morning, never have cried. Sue been fantastic taking him to different clubs & activities. We have never missed that he should be at nursery, his learning journey been up-to good standards. Keeping us well informed of daily routine end of day with daily diary, pics & videos been joyful seeing him enjoy. We can not praise Sue enough for work she does & cleanliness of home with kids & well organised.
My son, still miss her and says I love & miss my Sue !! She has been amazing. We love you Sue. Best wishes

Thank you for your lovely review 😊
Sue was simply wonderful with our son who starting with her at age 1.5 years - we couldn't be more grateful for the way she nurtured him. To be honest, we were a bit nervous when we started because of the pandemic and our son not having spent much time away from us. But he quickly became comfortable at Sue's place, and was happy eating and napping there within just a few days. He would be genuinely excited in the mornings, heading to her place 4 days/week. Sue would send us updates and photos regularly, which made the whole process so much more reassuring for us, and gave us things to talk with our son about once we picked him up. One of the many reasons we all loved Sue is that she is experienced and passionate about taking the kids outdoors in all weathers, and is prepared for everyone getting a little mucky. Indoors, she used to carefully curate a different theme every week which built up the children's interest and awareness of all kinds of things, from how penguins live, to what the Chinese new year is about. And, the regular dance parties! I could go on, but in a nutshell, Sue is excellent. Our son has moved on to a nursery now, but we all still smile and laugh when we talk about her.

Thank you so much for your lovely review!
Sue has looked after my son since he was 10 months and has been a vital part in his development and getting him ready for his next journey of going to school. I cannot express how thankful I am to sue for the love and care she showed my son, as a parent it’s hard to go back to work and trust someone with your child but Sue’s kind nature and warm heart puts your mind at rest and I couldn’t recommended her more.
Thank you sue for everything.
