About Me
I have been a registered childminder since 1997. I have 2 boys who are both over the age of 28, only 1 lives at home.
I am fully registered with Ofsted, Pacey and Bexley Council and I achieved a 'Good' grade from Ofsted in November 2015,‘Outstanding’ in April 2018 and 'Good' in December 2023.
I can take all funded childcare including 2 year offer, 9 month plus and 3 year old funding.
I live in a Semi Detached house with a large garden, close to Crayford train station, a dedicated playroom and a breakfast room where the children eat and can do craft. I have an extensive range of toys for all ages.
I regularly take the children out to toddler groups, parks, children's centre activities, farms, libraries, friends houses, soft play areas etc.
My Experience
I have been childminding since 1997, with many different children. I have had one child in my care for 12 years, from when she was 4 months old.
I have had training on many medical conditions, including autism, dyslexia, dispraxia, additional needs, hearing impairment and I have cared for a deaf child who used some sign language.
My Qualifications
I have many qualifications including : Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safe Guarding Children (Child Protection), Diploma in Signing within the Early Years, NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, and many more for which I have certificates.
My Availability
I only childmind on a Tues, weds & Thurs.
I currently have no spaces available but fell free to contact me for future work or information.
I work from 7.30 - 5.30pm 3 days a week Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays only.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
Fees include all activities and breakfast, lunch, tea & snacks.
I charge £7 per hour for under 5 year olds
These fees may be negotiable depending on hours.
I am happy to take any company childcare vouchers.

My little boy has been under Karen’s care for 8 months and thrives in her setting. He joined her as a shy 13 month old and has developed into a confident cheeky chappie with a wide vocabulary and great social skills. She particularly helped conquer problematic areas such as his weaning to solid food, which is something we had not been able to do successfully at home. Beyond her job, Karen genuinely loves and cares for him and this is evident when I see how he interacts and plays with her. She is fully aligned with our values and approach to discipline which gives the little one a consistent experience when with her or at home. We visited many different childminders and nursery settings and Karen was head and shoulders above them all. We feel lucky to have her, especially as she is usually fully booked.

We have recently left Karen's setting because my daughter is moving on to secondary school. Karen looked after my daughter from the age of 13 months until 11 years old. We could not have asked for a better childminder and consider ourselves so lucky to have found her. My daughter has always felt safe and happy with Karen and under her care has blossomed into a confident and independent child. Karen can always be trusted to support all of her mindees with patience and encourages them to take pride in their successes. There are always opportunities to play and learn and she regularly takes the children on trips. We are very sad we have to leave but will always remember our time at her setting with great affection.

Our little girl has several severe food allergies, so find a childminder who has the right skills, training and experience was of utmost importance to us. Karen has helped us looked after her for the last two years. Her advice and guidance throughout the last few years have helped our little girl grow. She now ready for preschool.

I was very fortunate to have Karen recommended to me by a friend and I am very happy with her services. Karen has been looking after my son Jasper since he was 8 months old, firstly for 3 days a week and now for 4 days while I am at work in London. He loves her and is very well cared for and happy to be with her and the other children in her care. They are always out and about, playing in the garden, visiting play groups, farms, trips to London on the train etc. Karen has a welcoming friendly house, kitted out to the rafters with toys and games and books etc....and is a very organised person who clearly loves her job. I'm kept imformed of his progress every day and any problems we have, we discuss and I think we have a good relationship. If you are looking for a good childminder I can definately say I've had no problems with Karen and would recommend her to anyone requiring childminding services.
