About Me

My name is Estelle ( Auntie stelle’s) I am married with two children a son who is 27and daughter who is 23 who no longer live at home ,I have been childminding since 1999 in the smithton area ideally situated across the road from smithton primary and backing onto a large playing field and play park ,registered with care inspectorate and Scottish childminding association which keeps us up to date with the courses and training that needs to be done to follow the care standard I have done these and continue to update them such as first aid , behaviour management , child protection , food hygiene , getting it right for every child, realising the ambition and epilepsy and diabetes and Literacy and learning and many more
ACTIVITIES
I have a dedicated playroom with good space for children to play with - wooden kitchen, chalk table , dressing up box , cars and garages , wooden trains , busy wall and more, on a regular basis I provide opportunities for the children to experience painting,water play,role play, play dough,sensory and messy play, construction sets,books,games, jigsaws and loose parts.
A selection of outdoor toys are provided :- sand pit, water wall, mud kitchen,Climbing wall we also have a nature garden with a little pond we have made and and area to grow things like potatoes , strawberries , rhubarb, black currents and seeds we find when out exploring ( maple, horse chestnut and conifer trees)
OUTINGS
Out doors is a great source of learning for children so We try and get out as much as possible even if its just a quick walk round local area talking about the plants and wildlife we see we’ve planted wildflowers around the area and regularly check to see how they are developing. places we visit are :-
Culloden house to feed ducks
Library
Little fishes play group
Belfield park
Walker park
Nairn beach
Funhouse
Mother and toddlers
School fete
Culloden woods
Sometimes we use the car for these outings and all relevant insurance is in place.
I have a private page for parent where I post pictures of your little ones busy at play, having snack or any little milestone that they may reach sometimes a little video just to say hi to cheer up your day! And keeping in touch through messenger at any time through out the day should you need to is absolutely fine, I make a keynote presentation detailing everything your child has done that day that can be sent via messenger or printed out that you can read with your child at home.
