About Me

I am an Ofsted registered childminder and live in a lovely cottage in a rural village between Northampton and Kettering,with my husband and youngest daughter.I have been registered with Ofsted since Jan 2000 and have a vast amount of experience of caring for children from newborn - 15yrs, as well as bringing up our own 4 daughters.One daughter is registered as a childminder and works alongside me with my husband and other family members as assistants,providing a homely, family environment. I was graded Outstanding at my last 2 inspections (2014 & 2022) and provide a 'first-class setting'.My daughter was also graded Outstanding at her inspection in 2019.
We have plenty of pets- two cocker spaniels,two cats,bantams and rabbits that the children have controlled interaction with.We have a large,secure,cottage garden for plenty of outdoor play.There is a dedicated barked play area for loose play with tyres, logs, planks of wood,a forest climbing frame and den building materials. The pre-school children have free-flow to a paved area with a playhouse,mud kitchen,lots of ride-on toys,sand pit and water table.There are sensory plants,water runs,wild animal houses and sensory boards dotted around the garden,and we enjoy growing vegetables and fruit that the children love being involved with!
We like to take the pre-school childen to local parks,nature tots,play areas,farms,woods etc as well as plenty of crafts and cooking activities during the day.School age children have a lounge area for playing board games,construction toys, the xbox,watch tv,read,and chill!There is also available an ipad and laptop for homework and educational games(with supervision),or they can sit at the table and be crafty!!
We encourage as much outdoor play as possible and aim to have the children playing outdoors each day.
A natural themed playroom is dedicated for the pre-school children, stacked with lots of wooden toys, books,puzzles and craft materials.
We follow the EYFS framework and undertake regular training.I am a member of a childminding network,offering a high standard of quality childcare.I am registered to provide 30hrs/ week free entitlement to 3 and 4 yr olds.We use Kinderly for tracking early years Children’s development and recording their days with us,which is shared securely with their parents.
My aim is to provide a warm,happy,loving home enviroment working alongside my husband,daughter and assistants.
Home cooked freshly made meals and snacks are provided,using organic or local farm produce.We have a weekly delivery of fresh fruit and veg from oddbox,as well as healthy nutritious Graze boxes.
We to/fro from Walgrave village school and Walgrave pre-school, We have a 9 seater and a 7 seater vehicle,which are business insured and regulary serviced.We hold age appropriate car safety seats which are used at all times.We also attend the local mums and tots of which we manage.
