About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and have been childminding since 2005, caring for children from birth to 10. I have 3 children of my own, aged 23,14 and 12. I have also brought up 2 stepchildren. Only my 2 younger children are still living at home.
I normally mind 3 children during the day and drop off/pick up from St Thomas school in Heaton Chapel.
I have 2 large rooms for children to play in, plus a garden and an allotment. From the back of my house, it is a short walk (or bike ride) to farms, stables and Highfield Country Park, without having to cross a road. I am also close to Heaton Moor Park.
I am registered,and qualified, to offer free places to children under the 2 year old offer and the free 15 hrs nursery grant to 3/4 year olds.
My Experience
I have experience of working with a variety of different age groups, including children with special needs and disabilities. Before childminding I worked for 12 years as a special needs careers adviser and 2 years as a young carers worker.
For the last 5 years I have worked as a support childminder through Surestart, offering support and advice to new childminders. I am a Network childminder, which involves undertaking regular training and receiving monitoring visits.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in English, a post-graduate diploma in Careers Guidance and an NVQ 3 in Childcare. I have a qualifiaction in Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 Award in Food Safety and NCMA Quality First Level 2.
I have recently completed the Preparing To Teach In The Lifelong Learning Centre, which enables me to teach childminding courses.
My Availability
I am available 8 until 6 Monday to Thursday. I drop off and pick up from St Thomas school in Heaton Chapel.
I generally work approximately 46 weeks of the year, taking about half of the school holidays off with my children. I also offer term time only contracts.
I currently have a 2 day space (TuesdayWeds or Monday/Weds)
I also have 2 before/after school vacancies.

My Fees
£4 per hour; £35 per day; £15 before and after school (including meals), £12 after school (with meal); £10 until 5 o'clock.
