Hello, my name is Tamsin age 41, and I have been minding since 2007, I truly love to work with children. I can honestly say I have one of the best jobs in the world, I genuinely take pride in being able to help the children reach their developmental goals and to help them thrive. I have a very caring nature which is why this work seems to suit me so well. All the children feel at home and safe with me which is very important as it's a big aim to offer a home from home environment for the little ones. I am a fun and loving person. Every child thrives in my care. I believe in setting boundaries to help little ones develop and to be ready for life after being in childcare. I work with my Husband, Chris 42, we have 3 children, 22, 19 and 14 years old who are our world, we live in a 4 bedroom detached house in the new part of Gunthorpe. We have had a purpose built extension added to our home in May 2014, this is a lovely roomy and light area which overlooks the garden where the children love to be. All the children thoroughly enjoy these areas. I am always ready for new challenges!
We like to do a variety of activities during the week, we like to go for walks, we like to read, mark make, dance, sing, do yoga as well as lots of child lead play and a lot of other fun things.
In 2021 we have had another play room/space added to the setting, it is a wooden insulated lodge, this is a lovely, light and bright natural area which the children love to learn and play in, the children are able to choose their activities and resources themselves, which is wonderful to enable them to all follow their own interests, rather than the interests of their peers.
We serve healthy home cooked meals, the children enjoy growing our own fruit and vegetables, this helps children want to try new foods and learn about making healthy choices.
We are an Early Years only setting at present, which means we don't have to share the spaces we have with school aged children or have to go on school runs which is lovely, especially in the cold and wet weather.

My Experience
I have worked with children from 6 weeks to 11 years. I have loved looking after every single one of them. I have looked after numerous children with autism which I found both rewarding and interesting. I have looked after approximately 65 children in 18 years, with many leaving to go to school.
I have looked after many children with allergies and I unfortunately suffer myself so have a lot of experience in that field too.
I offer 15 hour 9 month old - 3 years and the 15/30 hours 3/4 year old funding.

We are extremely lucky and grateful to have found Tamsin and Chris. They have made my return to work not feel as anxious as it started out at the beginning of the quest for the best childcare for my son. Tamsin has been beyond than accommodating with my working hours and her settling in schedule for my baby worked wonders as I was really worried on how he will get on since he has never been with anyone else except us. He is still crying a bit at drop off, however this stops as soon as he is inside and the fact that he is playing, eating and sleeping in there says it all , we are definitely on the right track. We are confident we have made the best choice for him and we are resting assured that he could not have been in better hands. The setting itself is immaculate and the educational curriculum is really impressive. Well deserved the Offstead Outstanding review!!!

Cant believe how well my little dude is settling into his time with his childminders.
Step back to the end of may….. i was so worried, as he hadn’t left my side in the day time other than hair appointments and his dad had him, Nanny has had him for a few hours in evenings ❤️
He wouldn’t drink from a bottle and would constantly want to be attached to my boob🫣
Would scream at people he didn’t know especially if they had a beard or a hat on.
Fast forward to now and we pull up outside the house he gets excited rolls his feet turns his hands smiling away as he knows where he’s going!
He goes into Tamsin and Chris’s home with big smiles and has absolutely loved his settling in sessions. He’s definitely shocked me and josh and we’re so happy that he’s happy and settled, in the new surroundings.
he now drinks water or milk from a bottle in the daytime, although boobs are still his favourite but I don’t have to worry that when I eventually go to work, that he’s not drinking or he’s upset.
As much as I loved Reggies nursery we have definitely made the right choice with Aj with going to a childminders
And a million percent we have picked the best ones!!! ❤️
It shows on paper too when they’ve received Outstanding on their recent Ofsted report!! That itself isn’t an easy achievement!!
So Thankyou Tamsin and Chris for making this next transition in our boys life a smooth easy and extremely happy one 😊

Where would we be without Tamsin and Chris. Nothing is too much trouble for them! They have made going back to work so seamless after extended paternity leave. Our daughter not only settled in very quickly, she is thriving in their care.
Tamsin is not ‘just a childminder’ she is a childcare specialist who is extremely passionate about what she does and delivers high quality care. Her continual professional development portfolio is very impressive and demonstrates her willingness to learn about new practices. We wouldn’t want our daughter to go to anyone else!

Although our daughter is yet to start with Tamsin, we have visited her setting twice with and were both very impressed with what we have seen so far. We particularly liked the portfolio Tamsin gave us displaying her impressive CPD (Continued Personal Development) achievements, it is very impressive to see that although she has earned an Outstanding Ofsted rating, she is continuing to improve her knowledge and skills.
The setting itself looks clean and tidy, lots of toys and activities for a mixed age group. From reading her last Ofsted report (June 2014), it is easy to see that this is an outstanding setting.
We feel our daughter will be well looked after with Tamsin and look forward to seeing what she gets up to in the new outdoor area.

Following an awful nursery experience, we are so relieved to have found Tamsin who has been so accommodating from the word go. We now feel 100% confident leaving our little boy with someone we can trust!

We instantly knew Tamsin was the right person for our son. Although he is yet to start Tamsin took an interest in our son and in our family. She took the time to get to know us and what we wanted in a childminder. Nothing was too much hassle and no question was daft. I now feel at ease knowing that when I return to work my son will be well cared for.
