About Me
I am a fully qualified childminder with BTEC National Nursery Nursing qualification, I am DBS checked and I hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate. I am based in Abram, Wigan (wn2). I work alongside my daughter Shannon aged 27 years as she is my legal assistant.
I have places available from part time, to full time. I am happy to consider holiday care and term time only care. I also provide two to three year old funding which can be discussed further if required.
I offer a warm friendly home base setting from 7.30am to 6pm; Monday-Friday. I can accommodate earlier starts if required but this will need to be discussed in further detail should it be needed.
Please feel free to contact me with any queries you may have or to book a visit which I would be more than happy to arrange. The visits are essential to meet me and to view my home personally. Your child is always welcome on these visits as it is also important to see how well your child reacts.
My Experience
I have more than 20 years’ experience working with children, in many different ways. To start my childcare career I began working at the YMCA nursery, which then lead on to being offered a job to be a Nanny abroad. Over my 20+ years I have worked in a variety of nurseries and I have ran my own parent and toddler group. I love childminding and I previously was a childminder for 7 years, which ended in 2010. I wanted to become a childminder again so I started again in April 2014.
My Qualifications
I have a BTEC National in Nursery Nursing, I hold a basic food hygiene certificate and have my First Aid training as required. I have completed my Safeguarding Children training and hold the designated leader position for my setting. I complete online courses which relate to my setting, and caring for children.
My Availability
I have full time and part time places available. I am happy to cater for holiday care if required. My hours are 7.30am to 6pm; Monday-Friday. I can offer earlier starts but this would need to be discussed.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
My fees are as follows;
Full day (7.30am – 6pm) = £42 per day
Half day (7.30am – 12.30pm) (1pm – 6pm) = £29.00 per half day
Full week (7.30am – 12.30pm) (Monday – Friday) = £210 per week

My daughter has been going to Lorraine since she was 6 months old and is now about to start Primary School.
Lorraine provides a home setting full of learning and fun and cuddles alongside helping parents achieve standard milestones such as toilet training, giving up dummies, walking, weaning etc. Lorraine supports what you do at home to provide consistency and help your children develop and grow in a fun environment.
There is messy play, outdoor play, visits to parks and play centres, dressing up, story time, singing and most importantly when your children are a little low, lots of cuddles and reassurance.
I fully intend to continue to use Lorraine for my school holiday care!

My little girl has been attending little treasures for nearly 2 years now and she loves it. She has learned and developed so much. She has made lots of friends and I can tell that she feels at home there.They do a range of activities with the children and monitor their development liaising with parents where needed. It is a clean and friendly environment and would highly recommend to anyone.

My little boy has been going to Lorraine since he was 6moths old and has developed really well. Lorraine is very good and keen at helping with things you maybe struggling with. Very polite and friends lady with a great family support behind her. She treats every kid the same and my son just loves to keep going to her house. Keep up the great work Lorraine!

Two of my children have been and they have been very well looked after, my youngest still attends and is so happy and has made lots of friends and loves being there, he has learnt lots and is talking more and he loves to play out in the garden, he runs in to the setting and is saying bye as he goes in ready for his day, i am very happy leaving him there knowing he is happy and safe

From the moment we met Lorraine we both knew we would be 100% comfortable leaving our little girl at 7 months old. She gave us a very warm welcome and has been nothing but reassuring to me over my worries about returning to work. Thanks to Lorraine I am not looking forward to work so my daughter can benefit from playing with Lorraine and the other children she looks after. I would highly recommend.
