About Me
I am a bubbly, friendly person, who enjoys organising activities including arts & crafts, baking and exploring our lovely local countryside. I really enjoy nurturing and caring for others, especially children. In my setting I work together with assistants & or my husband Derek.
We plan activities around the children's interests and explore our local wildlife, woodlands and local amenities.
We were graded Good at our last inspection & have worked hard to work in partnership with all Our families to stay covid safe & remained open throughout lockdown .
My Experience
I have looked after many children & supported lots of families . The children we care for range from 3 months to 12 years . I have completed many local authority & government approved training courses including Paediatric First Aid course, Level 3 Safeguarding training , Autusm awareness level 2 and also my Level 5 diploma in Children and Young Adults including leadership & management. I am also a "Quality Awarded" childminder, as rated by Dorset Local Authority.
I am a caring, organised person, who offers a home from home childcare setting. All the children and families that I look after are treated as part of my family. I enjoy working with all the children and their families, sharing their child's learning journey.
I work with 3 assistants, Kira, Megan & Mia. I also work alongside my husband who provides all the amazing food, creates lots of new resources & supports all the team.
We can provide home cooked meals and do a 2 week menu which is two courses for a small additional fee, or we are happy for you to provide your own packed lunches or meals.
We look forward to welcoming you to our setting.
My Qualifications
We have been rated as "Good" by Ofsted. I have completed my Paediatric First Aid course, my Level 3 Safeguarding training and my Level 3 diploma in Children and Young Adults. I have also been awarded my "Quality Award" from Dorset County Council, and completed many other training courses to support children's learning.
All of my assistants are trained & certified in paediactric first aid, Safeguarding level 3 & have additional support courses.
My Availability
We are available from Monday to Thursday 7.00 am till 18.00 pm & Fridays 7.00- 17.00 all year around.
I can offer flexible hours to suit your individual families requirements, including all year round, term time, or holiday only cover. Please don't hesitate to give me a call to discuss your needs .

My daughter has been with Rachael’s house since she was 5 months old. She has absolutely loved her time with Rachael, Derek, Kira and Kim.
They have helped her learn and provided the best possible setting for all the different stages of her development throughout the years.
She is now fully equipped and ready for big school. She will miss everyone very much!

Our daughter has been with Rachael and team since she was a year old. Now heading off to school and she has had such a great time.
As parents we have felt it's been a safe and nurturing space for her. She's definitely eaten better at Rachael's than at home! 🤣
Rachaels house has supported her learning and development so she is now ready for her first days as a big kid at school.
We look forward to child two getting the same great experience!

My son has been with Rachael and her team since he was 9 months old and he is now nearly 5 and going to school.
During his time there my son has loved every moment, he has made friends for life and has learned so much.
Rachael and her staff have always gone above and beyond for me and my family and I would recommend her to everyone!

My daughter has been here since a baby after I took her out a local nursery as she Kept getting poorly, Halle was not the easiest of children and Rachael and Derek persevered with her for so long until she was settled. It’s such a home from home setting and it’s so clean! Halle was never poorly which was a big thing for me.
They took them on lovely outings and made them home cooked meals (which was Halles favourite part) Rachael’s childcare became a second home setting for Halle and she will miss you all so much! I am sure she will come and visit and say hi on the school runs!
Can’t recommend Rachel’s enough for quality childcare that you can really trust! They are all amazing! Thank you! ❤️

Rachel and her team are wonderful!!!
I have 2 daughters, 4 and 6 and both of them love going to Rachel's - they have been going for a number of years now. They socialise with their friends, learn, experience new things and most importantly have fun. They are never unhappy when coming back from Rachael's and always leave with a 'Thank you!' and a smile.
Rachael and her team, are always happy to help, whatever the situation. If they can, they will. They have really gone the extra mile for our family, especially when it has gone through tough times. Not only for the girls, but always a friendly ear to me as well!
Their set up is great and soon to get even better with their new renovations. They have a great outside play area, which was important to me, as well as in doors for the rainy days. The meals are home cooked and tasty - I have been lucky to taste my daughters a few times when she's not been hungry!
I can't thank Rachael and her team enough for all their time, patience, support and love to my girls. Both are soon to move out the area and I know they will miss you a great deal, but the foundation you have provided will put them in great stead!

My little boy has been going to Rachel for a good 2 years and they are so fantastic with him. Have helped me out in emergencies and such a homely environment with activities all day long. He always loved mealtimes there also. I would recommend to anyone.

My son has been coming to Rachael since I returned to work just before he was one. The transition was seamless which made the process so much easier for me. He settled in so quickly and within weeks was not looking back on drop off. We definitely noticed a significant difference in his development since coming to Rachel's and the wide variety of activities are great. I couldn't recommend Rachael and her staff enough, they are so welcoming and the children have such a great time there.

My son started going toRachael when I returned to work when he was 9 months old. He is now nearly 2 and he absolutely loves his days with her.
I have no doubt that his development and social skills are largely down to the wonderful care he receives at Rachael’s House.
Rachael works around my husbands rotas which means we can have Oliver at home as much as possible- she’s extremely flexible and helpful in fitting in extra days here and there.
I’d be lost if we hadn’t found Rachael and I’m so glad we did!

Rachael is our daughters 3rd childminder & for us it really had been 3rd time lucky, our little girl is 3 yrs old & adores Rachael & always has a wonderful time & always looks forward to going to her. She really does provide a home from home & ha always been very flexible & has saved us on many childcare emergency occasions!
