My name is Dee, and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder in Spalding. I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to you and your little ones. With over a decade of experience as a teacher and a deep-seated passion for nurturing young minds, I have dedicated my life to providing exceptional care and guidance to children. I live in a 4-bedroom detached house in Spalding.
As a mother of four wonderful children, my journey in childminding is inspired by my own experiences and the love I have for kids. My years in education have equipped me with the skills and understanding necessary to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
My philosophy centres around providing personalised care that caters to each child's unique needs, fostering their development, and encouraging their curiosity. I believe in creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere where children feel loved, secure, and excited to learn.

We brought our 7 year old son to Millfield Montessori this week during the half-term holiday 8-4pm. Dee was so helpful from the get-go and thoroughly explained everything to us & answered all of our questions. The setting is beautiful. My son loves going to Millfield Montessori & always tells me about how great his day was. Dee is so calm & nurturing & I would 100% recommend her to other parents that are looking for childcare! 😊

I was so apprehensive to return to work and to leave my baby. He is my third baby and I was devastated when I realised there were no spaces in the local recommended nursery settings. I’d never really considered looking at childminders, but I am so glad I did. As soon as we went to Dee’s for an initial visit we were met with kindness and warmth. I felt so comfortable and could tell my son did too. The main play room is spacious and calming and full of a variety of toys/activities for everyone. There’s a separate room for sleeping and down time which even I could’ve fallen asleep in! 😂
A few months in and everything is wonderful and our beautiful boy is thriving. He’s absolutely fine when being dropped off in the morning which I wasn’t expecting so soon, as he’s a super clingy baby. Dee has been very understanding of personal circumstances and very helpful in accommodating us. We can’t wait to continue to watch our boy learn and grow with the help of Dee and her lovely apprentice. This place is a god send and we feel so lucky our baby gets to be here.

Millfield Montessori has been nothing short of incredible for our family! As a mother, nothing matters more than knowing your child is in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. From the moment my daughter walked through their door, she was welcomed with warmth, and the biggest smile from Dee. Dee is an absolute gem. She's so gentle, patient, welcoming, and truly invested in our daughter's growth. Dee doesn't just "watch" the children but nurture them to build confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning.
Every morning, my daughter rushes in with excitement, and then when I come to pick her up, she's buzzing with smiles and stories of what she’s learnt and the fun she’s had. That joy and enthusiasm speak volumes about the level of care and dedication at Millfield Montessori. The space is also beautifully designed for children because it is always clean, feels safe, and is filled with engaging activities. They also spend plenty of time outdoors, which I love! And as a parent, I always feel informed and included because Dee's communication is top-notch, and I know exactly what my daughter is up to each day. Millfield Montessori isn’t just a childminder setting for me, it’s like a second home!
If you want a place where your child will be cherished, inspired, supported and receive great care in every way, then you should look no further! I couldn’t recommend Dee and Millfield Montessori more highly. Thank you, Dee, for giving my child a beautiful start in life! 💖

I had a family emergency and contacted Dee for overnight minding of my little one. - only 10 months old at the time. I was quite worried as she’d never spent the night away from me before. Dee reassured me and made me feel confident in my decision. She’s a fantastic service provider and really does care for these little ones as her own. I’m really glad I can rely on her services - It has honestly given me peace of mind during a tough and stressful season. If you genuinely want the best for your children, this is it.

My daughter loves this place! Dee is extremely professional and caring. She carries out wonderful educational activities that stimulate learning and the development of my little one, she is a qualified professional who loves what she does. The space is charming, very organized and extremely pleasant and welcoming. I recommend it to all parents who are really looking for a safe and educational place for their little ones. Thank you once again Dee for making my daughter’s days so happy.❤️😍🙏

Moving from London, we struggled to find the right place for our little one. In her previous setting, it took her a while to settle, so we were worried about how she’d adjust. But with Dee, it was a completely different story—she settled in so quickly and was actually excited to go back!
Dee is amazing. She’s so warm and caring, and she makes the place feel incredibly safe and welcoming. It’s clear she genuinely loves what she does, and that means the world to us as parents. She goes above and beyond to make sure our daughter is happy and comfortable.
We honestly couldn’t be happier and feel so lucky to have found her. If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your child she’s brilliant.

Unfortunately I have had an awful experience with this childcare setting and would not recommend. I have discussed this with setting how I felt my baby was not in a safe environment due to unsafe sleeping environments (as per a photo) where he had a muslin tied around his neck, he was on the floor asleep, toys around him that were not age appropriate and posed as a choking hazard, faced down into a pillow. After discussing my concerns I was met with hostility and threatened with solicitors.

It is disappointing to receive an unfair and misleading review when I have consistently provided high-quality childcare, as reflected in my 6 other 5-star reviews from satisfied parents.
As an Ofsted-registered childminder with 10 years of teaching experience, the safety and well-being of all children in my care is my top priority. I adhere to strict safeguarding and sleep safety guidelines in line with EYFS and Ofsted regulations. The allegations made here are wholly unfounded and contradict the overwhelmingly positive feedback from other parents.
Regarding contractual matters, this parent agreed to a six-month minimum term but after 4 days has sought to withdraw their child without payment or honoring the agreed terms. This constitutes a contractual breach, rather than any negligence on my part. It is unfortunate that this has led to a misrepresentation of my childcare service.
My commitment to providing a nurturing and safe environment for all children remains unchanged, and I encourage prospective parents to consider my longstanding reputation and verified reviews rather than one isolated, premeditated and unfounded complaint.
I've just begun using Dee's setting for school holiday care for my 5 year old son and my impressions so far have all been very good.
My son has additional needs and so can present some unique challenges, but Dee helped him settle into her setting and begin enjoying himself very quickly. After only a few days he visibly couldn't wait to get through the door and begin his day there.
From what I've seen of the setting (both in person and through the regular Tapestry updates) it has a wide range of equipment and activities and has certainly managed to keep my son very well entertained. He is always happy when I collect him and Dee always takes the time to tell me about his day.
Dee herself has always been very welcoming and helpful, both while I was registering to use her setting and now that I've started. I plan on using her services again in the future whenever she's available.
I would definitely recommend her.

I was in a desperate situation to find a childminders for the school holidays in such little time. Dee was fantastic and fast with organising everything and made me feel at ease with the signing up process. She listened to all my concerns and supported me with this. Dee is very welcoming and surprisingly my children settled very quick with her. There was great communication throughout and kept me updated with everything my children had been up to.
Millfield Montessori is a fantastic childminders it’s very clean and very safe environment. Dee is amazing, friendly and extremely caring.
I highly recommend this childminders in the local area! I will definitely be returning in the future!

My little one has been attending Dee’s for a few months now and totally loves going! Shes really sad to leave every time and talks all the way home about what she’s done.
I can’t recommend Dee enough she’s always so happy, friendly, helpful and nothing is ever a problem. Dee’s room is also very well set up and offers lots of activities for the children, which is always super clean and tidy.
It’s so nice knowing my little one is being looked after so well! We will be sad to leave in July when she moves onto school in September.
