About Me
My Name Is Shakira Ahmed, I am a retired childminder with over 26 years of experience. I live with my five children and husband in Walthamstow in a big house, which I make sure is clean for the children that I care for. I also have a big garden where outdoor activities take place so that the children are able to explore the outside environment. I enjoy being around children and like discovering what their likes and dislikes are. I also have two assistants that help me whom are qualified by Ofsted. All adults living in the household are CRB/DBS checked. As a Childminder, I will ensure the services I am providing is at high standards and the parents feel pleased when co-operating with me.I will also provide the children with full safety and a caring environment. In addition, I also provide babysitting services during weekends. If you would like to contact me please do not hesitate to do so.

My Experience
I have 31 years of experience, I have 5 children at different age group, whom my oldest daughter is 31 and the youngest of them five is 18 years old. I've worked with some lovely family's over the years and have some very good references. I often look after my friends and family's babies/children's.

My son attended Shakiras day care at her house from the ages of 7 months til 11 months and at short notice as I had some work come up. He settled in really well and was very well looked after my Shakira and her team of helpers! Shakira is a very kind and welcoming woman and I felt very safe and comforted leaving my son with her. We only moved him as we unexpectedly had a nursery space become available. He was always happy when we went to collect him!! Thank you!

We were incredibly fortunate to have found Sharika and her team when we needed childcare at short notice. Our 1-year-old daughter quickly formed a strong bond with them, and it was clear that she was in a safe and happy environment. Their outdoor space is fantastic. We highly recommend their services!

Our daughter started with Shakira at 12mo. She settled in so quickly with the love and care of Shakira and her assistants. Since then she has thrived in a playful atmosphere with lots of outdoor play in the big garden. Will be sad to leave for the next step (nursery).

Shakira looked after my 1 year old daughter. My daughter was not used to being with people apart from our family and was initially nervous, but Shakira and her assistants put a lot of work in to help her get comfortable at Shakira's house. They were kind and caring, and my daughter really enjoyed being there.
Shakira's house and garden are well set up for children and she has lots of different activities for them.
Would very much recommend!

What would I have done without Shakira…
I’m so grateful I came across Shakira, she is the loveliest most caring childminder I’ve ever met. My daughter loved her and looked forward to going to her setting everyday. Shakira really looked after my daughter like her own and taught her many things. I’m so greatful and would highly recommend her.

Shakira looked after our little boy from when he was 13 months. I was very nervous about leaving him somewhere new when I went back to work but I didn’t need to be as Shakira provided a very warm and loving environment for him to be in and he thrived throughout the time he was there. In the end he would run away when I came to pick him up as he was having such a great time with Shakira, her assistants, family and all his little friends. For any parents looking for somewhere safe, fun and loving to leave their little ones while they rejoin the world of work I would recommend Shakira as a great choice, my son was extremely happy there.

My daughter started going to Shakira when she was 1 and I went back to work. I was very nervous but Shakira was so friendly and loving. My daughter settled in immediately and was so happy there. I liked it there as it felt like a safe, warm, happy and relaxed atmosphere and I knew my daughter was getting so much attention in a loving environment. I would highly recommend Shakira and would definitely go to her again if we needed to.

Shakira looked after our daughter full time between when she was 11 months and 2.5 years and we were so happy with her - our daughter was welcomed into Shakira's family with so much love, it was like a second home. I couldn't recommend Shakira highly enough for a loving environment where the children are truly cared for.

I was very worried our (rather difficult 9mo) little girl would struggle to settle anywhere - but the moment she met Shakira she was all smiles! We instantly felt at home with her and her family environment, and knew we could trust her to look after our little one. She (the baby!) flaps with excitement every time we get near to her house, which is a large upstairs flat with lots of outside space (with homegrown veggies!) and millions of toys. She naps brilliantly there and is always in a good mood when we go to collect her. Shakira sends little videos and photos so I can see how much fun she's having. Anyone else would be lucky to have her! Katharine and JP xxx

Shakira looked after our 12 month old son for 4 months which was his first experience of childcare. Shakira was very loving with him providing him with lots of cuddles and reassurance. She was also very patient when it took him a little while to settle and kind enough to offer him many opportunities to spend little amounts of time there until he got settled. Shakira is also very accommodating in terms of helping out with extra days or changing days where possible. Food is not provided which makes the childcare very affordable. However, Shakira always ensured that my son had enough food and snacks. It is a lovely setting with lots of toys and a lovely garden too. She is definitely very professional and caring and I would recommend her to anyone.
